A validation survey measures what the installed wireless network is actually doing. We walk the site with calibrated survey equipment, capturing passive (and where appropriate, active) measurements across every area that matters, then compare the results with the agreed design criteria.
Why validate?
Buildings rarely match drawings exactly. Access points get mounted in the wrong place, installed above ceilings, or orientated incorrectly. Furniture, racking and stock change the RF environment. Automatic radio management may set channels and power in ways that look fine on a dashboard and perform poorly on the floor. A validation survey replaces assumptions with evidence.
What we measure
- Primary and secondary signal strength for each band in use
- Signal-to-noise ratio across the survey area
- Co-channel overlap and channel plan health
- Access point configuration as seen over the air, including channel widths, SSIDs and data rates
- Throughput, latency and roaming behaviour where active testing is in scope
A clear outcome
You receive a report that states plainly whether each area meets the design. Where it does not, we explain why and what to change, ranked by impact. If your installer or integrator needs to remediate, they get marked-up floorplans rather than a vague list of complaints.
No design to validate against? We will agree sensible criteria with you based on the devices and applications in use before we start.
