An AP-on-a-Stick survey uses a temporary access point, mounted on a telescopic mast at the intended height, to measure how RF actually propagates in your building. We move the access point through representative positions and capture its coverage with survey equipment, building a design from real measurements.
When predictive design is not enough
Predictive modelling relies on knowing what the building is made of. In many sites that information is missing or misleading: foil-backed plasterboard, reinforced concrete, lift shafts, steel racking, stock that changes with the season, or walls that are a metre thick. APoS removes the guesswork.
Warehouses and industrial sites
Warehouse Wi-Fi supports handheld scanners, vehicle-mounted terminals and voice pick systems. Racking, stock density and mounting height all change how signal reaches the aisles. We survey with the access point at its intended height and, where possible, with representative stock in place, so the design reflects how the site operates.
Combined with predictive design
APoS results calibrate the predictive model. The final design uses measured attenuation where it matters and predictive modelling to cover the full site efficiently. See Predictive Wi-Fi Design.
