This is a representative example of a common engagement, describing our approach. It is not an account of a named client project.
The typical problem
A new fit-out is nearing handover. The wireless network has been installed and the management platform shows every access point online, but nobody has measured what users will actually experience in meeting rooms, breakout areas and open-plan floors.
How we approach it
- Confirm the design criteria with the client, or agree criteria if none were documented.
- Survey every floor after furniture is installed, capturing signal, SNR and co-channel overlap for each band.
- Compare results with the design area by area and check over-the-air configuration such as channel widths and transmit power.
- Mark up floorplans showing any areas that fall short, with the cause and recommended fix, such as a misplaced access point or an unsuitable channel plan.
- Re-survey remediated areas to close out the project.
What the client receives
A clear pass or remediation report that the client, fit-out contractor and installer can all act on, and evidence that the network meets its design at handover.
